Zhenjiang got its current name at the time
when Zhenjiang Prefecture was established
in the Northern Song Dynasty in 1113, and
this name remained unchanged in the Yuan,
Ming and Qing dynasties. After the 
Revolution of 1911,Zhenjiang was renamed
as Dantu County and then changed to
Zhenjiang County in 1928. From 1929 to
February 1949,Zhenjiang was the seat of
Jiangsu provincial government...

Hub section of the Yangli Expressway... 

Located in the southwest of Jiangsu
Province and on the southern bank
of the lower reaches of the Yangtze

latitude 31°37'~32°19'N and
longitude118°58'~119°58' E. The
maximum straight-line distance
between east and west is 95.5
kilometers,and that between north
and south is76.9 kilometers. 

In 1954,“Yihou Ze”Bronze Gui(food
container),a Western Zhou Dynasty
national treasure with 126-character
inscriptions on it, was unearthed
from Yandun hill,Dagang,Zhenjiang.
More than 3,000years ago,King Kang
of Zhou(1026-1001 B.C.)enfeoffed 
the land of Yi to the noble Ze
and granted him the title of 
Yihou.
