In 2024, Zhenjiang achieved significant progress in infrastructure and urban development. The Weigang and Guyang interchanges were completed and opened to traffic, while the rapid upgrading project of the Nanjing-Zhenjiang section of National Highway G312 entered its final phase. The expansion of the Zhenjiang South - Dantu Hub section of the Yangli Expressway was accelerated, and preparatory work such as land acquisition and relocation for the Danjin Expressway commenced in full swing. Major projects including the relocation of Zhenjiang East Freight Yard and the National Regional Highway Emergency Equipment &Material (Zhenjiang) Reserve Center broke ground. 278 urban construction projects were implemented in the urban area, 32 urban roads were newly constructed or renovated. Notable achievements included the completion of Zhufang Road renovation and environmental improvements alongside, the upgrade of Runzhoushan Road (including Fengcheshan Road), and environmental enhancements along the urban section of National Highway G346, the areas surrounding the Zhenjiang South Station, and Taigushan Road. The Jinshan Road overhaul project was successfully completed. 19.1 kilometers of water supply pipelines were newly built or upgraded, 39kilometers of new sewage pipelines were built, 2.2 kilometers of municipal sewage pipelines were repaired, and urban sewage concentrated treatment rate reached 96.4%. The city renovated 55 old residential communities covering 1.3 million square meters, benefiting 13,198 households.

Urban greening initiatives featured 10 new "Enjoyable Gardens" including the Upper Ancient Canal enhancement and environmental improvements along the Dantu section of G346, bringing the total to 28 such sites. The city added 178 hectares of urban green space, achieving 16.06 square meters of per capita park area. Forest coverage reached 25.6%, while built-up area greening coverage hit 42.7%. The total electricity consumption of the whole society for the year was 32.8 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.9% over the previous year, with urban and rural residents' domestic electricity consumption at 4.741 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 20.3%. The city has 8 regional water supply plants with a total water supply capacity of 1.32 million tons per day, of which the urban area's tap water supply capacity is 800,000 tons per day. The total supply of pipeline natural gas in the urban area is 590 million cubic meters, with 768,100 households using natural gas and 126,900 households using liquefied gas. The annual average concentration of PM2.5 at national monitoring sites was 34.6 micrograms per cubic meter, with a good air quality rate of 81.1%. The proportion of Class III water quality at national and provincial monitoring sections of surface water was 100% throughout the year.
